As usual we like to keep everything as
simple as possible. The Lords Prayer runs to
70 words, The Gettysburg Address 267 words
and the American Declaration of Independence
1,322 words. Here are three of the world’s
most important and cherished documents,
famous for their simplicity and brevity.
Contrast this to the Terms and Conditions
associated with one medium sized UK list
broker which run to 2,928 words of drawn out
legalese.
Like the famous documents above we’ll opt
for terms that are simple, brief and easily
understood. The lawyers can instead go feast
on somebody else.
So here goes:

The data that you acquire from
Promolists Limited is for your own
use only and is not to be resold or
redistributed to any other party.
2.
You may use the data as often as you
wish.
3.
The data is only to be used for
genuine B2B marketing purposes.
4.
Promolists Limited gives no warranty
as to the accuracy of the data save
only that it will honestly advise
any purchaser as to the age of the
data, and then scale back on charges
for older data, recognising that the
older the data the less accurate it
is likely to be. Thus data that is
2-3 years old will cost a lot less
than data which is just a few months
old. Other than this no warranties
are given or implied.
5.
Unless otherwise advised we do not
advocate the use of our data for
mailing campaigns that may or may
not contain expensive inserts. If
using for mailing campaigns you are
advised to check the mailing address
before sending. Remember that you
can typically send 40-50 faxes, and
up to 350 emails for the price of a
letter.
6.
The data sold by Promolists Ltd is
primarily useful for telemarketing,
email marketing, fax and voice
broadcasting.
7.
In setting the price we will always
take account of the age of the data,
and will where thought necessary
give an up front ‘credit’ to allow
for non contactable phone numbers.
8.
Unless otherwise specified data is
guaranteed to be 80% accurate on the
amount of data paid for as it
relates to the particular field over
which it was purchased. Thus if your
primary interest is phone numbers
the guarantee extends to phone
numbers. The guarantee applies for
90 days from the date of purchase.
9.
Any lists which contain fax /
telephone data should be FPS / TPS
screened prior to usage given that
these registers change daily.
Purchasers should also bear in mind
the various regulations relating to
fax / email / voice broadcasting and
telemarketing.
10.
In acquiring data from Promolists
Limited it is accepted that the age
of data will vary. Promolists
Limited accepts no liability for
any losses, real or perceived, other
than a proportionate refund on the
cost of any purchased data that
proves to be inaccurate, in excess
of the allowances given at the time
of data purchase. Thus if you
purchase 20,000 records and we only
charge you for 18,000 the guarantee
extends to 80% of 18,000 which is
14,400 records.
11.
The refund offer referred to in
Clause 9 applies for 90 days
following the purchase of any data.
12.
Email addresses are not covered by
guarantees due to the many variables
that accompany email campaigns
including server security settings
that may prevent the delivery of
selected emails.
